Magical Medína

The medina of Tunis is a quarter in the city. It has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1979 It is a magical place and when you find your way away from the shopping of the souk, you can find good food and a tunisien magic that feels very genuine and welcoming. Founded in 698 around the original core of the Zitouna Mosque the Medina of Tunis developed throughout the Middle Ages. It startet between the mosque and the centre of Government to the west in the kasbah. If you can find a rooftop cafe you will feel like you are on top of the world.

Shopping in the Souk

The souk is a happening place where you can bye anything. The internett says you should haggel and a fair price is somewhere around half of the starting price. We found that to be true. And we found some nice things. There Are different rules in shops. But the tunisian shopkeeper will tell you outright if there is a room to haggel. There is also lots of good food stalls and small coffeshops.

Kartago

Kartage was build from 700bc to 400 ad and the ruins of Kartgo is a magical place. You can almost feel history creeping around every corner. Just a few footsteps behind.

The mai area down by the water was by far the nicest and coolest. All the different sites are not kept very good, and there is a bit of a patchwork koda feel to some..

But all in all weel Worth a visit.

Outside there is of coufse lots of taxi drivers and people selling stuff… Lots of omd Stone stuff.. We picked UP a souvenier and a fridge magnet.

Phat Tiger

A little gem of a restaurant. It has an asian menu with superb food and creative drinks, that taste amazing. The goyozas and the sweet and sour chicken was to die for. The icecream is in a league og its own. Be sure to visit if you have the chance.

A day at the beach (resort)

We wanted to go to the beach. Wisch was beatutiful. We walked along the beach til we found a place to swim. A Security guy showed up and told us we had to go thrugh the Hotel. Which we did. And we sort of got stuck there. It was a beautiful day to go swimming.

Tunis

For tthis years wedding anniversary se decided to co to Tunis,

No direct flights from norway to Tunisia, so we had a short connection in Paris. I think the connection time was like 46 minutes, so we needed to stress trough passøortcontroll, brisk walk/jog, god damn I hate aifports.

But se made it, 2x 2’5 hour flights. Taxi from aifport to hotell (se are 6 people, two hetels.. Was like 105 dinars)

Se are at Radksson City center, the rest just  jo the street.

EXcelent weather, 23 ish, and Maren is rally enjoing the somewhat hogger humidity… I accept it.

Most og the day was recon and just walking around. We also had lunch just inside the media.. Lots og stuff is closed today, due to it being sunday. A it strange, se thought it was friday it was closed.

The beer laws herr are a bit like morocco, you will fond a few places selling. The difference is that a lot og the locals also drink beer and alchol in general. Mote pubs… We found a Nice.. Ish.. one

Smoking is allowed inside…. So rally not a place to spend hours :)… But that was a pretty gold beer.
